RFID still remains a tecnology with a great economy impact in the upcoming years. The European Comission it is so sure about it that they published this year 2010 an extensive report called RFID: Prospects for Europe.
The report approaches different aspects, but the main focus is on using small tags for identifying of any objects form the actual market (pharmaceutical, food, household electronics, …) and on the public transport applications, already used by many cities.
It is mentioned the economical aspect also but the technological (costs, inexperience, …) and social (health, security, …) difficulties aswell.
